Martin Perl won the 1995 Nobel Prize in physics for his discovery of the tau lepton. In fond remembrance, we link to a document that intermingles excerpts from Perl’s Nobel autobiographical memoir and his Nobel Prize speech to give aspects of his early training, his graduate studies at Columbia, and his eight highly-successful years at Michigan working with Jones, Meyer, Longo, van der Velde, Roe, Ting and Glaser.
